Learn! Create! Craft!
Parkdale Project Read’s Community Craft-a-palooza!
A FUNDRAISER FOR PARKDALE PROJECT READ
On Saturday January 26, 2019, Happy Crafters and literacy lovers unite for a wintery afternoon of crafty creations. Come join us for a knitting social, or a jewellery-making workshop! We will have different crafting stations as well as craft instructors, so participants can share tips on the craft they love, or learn a brand new one!
Date: Saturday January 26, 2019
Time: 1pm – 4pm
Location: Parkdale Project Read – 1209 King St W, Unit 2 (South-East corner of King and Dufferin)
Follow these 3 easy steps to get involved:
- Register and Collect Pledges!
Find a buddy or two and email us at email@example.com with your team name, and the names of your teammates (if you already have that info). Registration deadline is January 13th, 2019.
- Start Fundraising!
Are you up for the challenge of raising $200 (suggested amount) for Parkdale Project Read? That’s asking ten of your friends, family members or coworkers for a $20 donation to support community adult literacy in Parkdale. But don’t worry if you don’t reach your goal, it’s the effort that counts!
We’ll even help you create an online fundraising page for your team on CanadaHelps! This makes it easy for you to share on social media and for folks to support your team with online donations. Win-win! We also have good ol’ paper pledge forms for any cash or cheque donations you may receive. (Click here to print out a Craft-a-thon Pledge Form)
- Come out for a cozy community crafting afternoon on Saturday, January 26th, 2019!
Join us from 1pm-4pm at Parkdale Project Read (1209 King St West, Unit 2) for our Community Craft-a-thon! There will be different crafting stations with instructors to show you the ropes. This is an afternoon to work on an existing project, or try your hand at a brand new craft. All participants will leave with a starter gift pack from a crafting station, and/or a new crafty creation.
There will be prizes for the Top Fundraiser and Top Teams, as well as gift packages for all participants. Most rewarding, we hope, is the opportunity to spend a cozy afternoon crafting with community members, sharing crafting tips, book recommendations, warm drinks and life stories, all for a great cause!
All donations go directly to supporting community adult literacy at Parkdale Project Read! To learn more, please visit the About Us section, or watch our video.
