This a new event

I am Camilla Mason. I have been with Project Read for the past six or seven years now. I want you to know the reason why I am where I am right now is because of the staff. My achievement is because of these courageous people: Wendy, Mary, Sherri, and Sheila, and one special lady Jenny Horsman. They are pleasant, warm, also there when you need them, it is a friendly environment.

You meet new and exciting people all the time, it makes you grow and develop into something or somebody wonderful. We had an open house just recently. We had great food. The staff made the place enjoyable and pleasant. Project Read is a place to come to help you focus and feel comfortable. I just met Carol and Mike. They are delightful people to get to know and work with. I thank them for my achievement.

My excitement heightened as my feet hastened to the destination of the occasion we long awaited. It was party time, a time to celebrate the occasion of a new era for Parkdale Project Read of which I am a part. Simultaneously the fact that this place is like a second home increased my steps to get there in a hurry. In reality, it is a place that many learners accomplish learning and a space that accommodates people of all needs in finding a new life in one way or the other. I finally got there and the place was out-of-this-world.

I sensed the welcome of warmth, love and appreciation. It was easy to depict that the elaborate food, detailed decoration and fine music was not for the aristocratic guests only. In fact it’s the nature of this center to make learners especially first place in everything they do. Food, music and dessert never ran out. There was not a dull moment. There were lively conversations all over the room, and fortunate for us, the very first people that initially started to think of such a reading program was in our midst.

As we proceeded into the other half of the celebration I was asked to cut the cake with the founder of the program. Followed were timely speeches and reminisces of past good works. After that, for some reason people did not show signs of wanting to go home so there was a prolonging of celebration with louder music and dance. Finally when guests were leaving one could have only heard echoes of good thoughts, good comments and so many promised to come again to make their contribution in tutoring and other ways to benefit this program.

At this point I want to thank the Parkdale Project Read staff for the meaningful way they included me.

On Saturday I went to the Tutor Training. Today I got there at 12:40 today. There were lots of people in the PPR. I was talk about math and reading more make new friend, I did a good job at PPR today. I met new people there. I was talk to Camila today. She was a nice person.

My name is Brenda Mayers and you will be astonished to know what my favorite body part is. Let me put your curious minds at rest. My favourite body part is my bum.

You see it runs in my family. As they will say in my country Trinidad, that is my trademark. I love my bum because it goes with my body. I love the feeling when I am walking down the street with men staring and whistling.

When my husband was alive, a young lady was making all sorts of passes at him. He quietly told her that he has a wife already, and when she is turning the corner, you see her long before you see the remainder of her. This one is no lie.

I was going to church on Sunday and a man was passing, driving his car. He kept on staring at me and there was a bridge just ahead of him. He nearly ran off the road and into the bridge. I get all sorts of attention, that is why my bum is special to me.

Ingredients:

1lb Carrot
½ cup Raisin
4 tsp Vinegar
2 tsp Sugar
Small pinch salt

Cleaned and wash carrot.
Shred the carrot.
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
Refrigerate for ½ hour.
Serve.

My life is always on the run. Work and work no sleep then go again, and there is no play. So I decide to do something for myself.

I use to work in a salon, it’s amazing to see women get their hair and face done very pretty. I thought to myself. Wake up girl it’s one life.

I went to the spa it’s a nice place. All women would love to be pampered. Treat my body I love very much. It’s very exciting the first time. I had no experience what so ever. I walk in with a smile on my face. Hi good morning, the cosmetologist came and took my coat then take me to the room and give me a robe to change. “Relaxing time!”

Then Anna came and took me to the beautician table and then she started to work on my face. The feeling was so good she clean and steam my face then put a mask on for 20 mins. And clean it off. I love this part, massage my face for half hour and moisturize. Her hands, her touch was like glass smooth, gentle, feels like an angel. Wow!

A guy came and said to me, put your feet in the pail of water at the same time another girl came, putting my fingers in a bowl of warm water. Imagine it’s great three people working doing different things. The guy clean and massage my feet, etc. and the girl working with my hands. I feel like a woman.

This is spring time. Be happy and have fun. Spring is a great advantage for people. There are lots of events. In the spring people do their spring cleaning. It’s the best time to get ready for the summer to plant flower and vegetable. What I like about spring you can enjoy the garden show every spring at the International Center at Airport Road. Ex decks, patios, outdoor, indoor and back yard. Imagine being able to put your feet up and enjoy life in a comfort weather and the warm bright sunshine. Spring time is the time to be in love just like when the flowers came out. In the spring the Farmer worker came from the Caribbean to work on the farm. They enjoy being in Canada or U.S. to work and make some money.

They would sew the flowers seeds and vegetables. It is very nutritious to have vegetables and fruits every days. Some people enjoy going to the park to see the trees, Roses, Animals, Fishes and try to catch fishes. It’s always cool to go fishing anytime in the year. You could cook fish all different ways. In the Caribbean fishing is a big business. Grandma would make fish tea, fish cakes, fry fishes, fish finger and puree the fish. What I like to do is go to park and walk, Ride and play sports.

One of the most important things in life a woman love to get a Rose from a loved one. In the spring you would see some beautiful colours. All the shining stars is out in fashion wear and looking sexy. In the spring time you would see a lots of bride parties at the park taking picture. They want the best wedding Photographs. You would see some beautiful wedding gowns and brides. Believe or not it is love in the sky.

In the spring walking through the park clear your mind and inspired a lots of people. I like to smell the fresh air.
